Continuous skill upgradation of employees is the hallmark of any progressive organisation. Taxation in particular is a very dynamic subject because of frequent changes in the tax law and procedure. The importance of continuous up-gradation of knowledge of employees tasked with administering tax laws cannot be understated.

Transformative changes have been brought in tax administration with the recent introduction of the Faceless Assessment Scheme in August 2020 with the objective of providing greater transparency, efficiency and accountability in tax proceedings. The scheme aims to leverage the expertise available with employees in different parts of the country and it aims to improve collaborative working. It is felt that Samvad (discussion) is perhaps the most effective and expedient method of transmission and as well as assimilation of knowledge amongst employees. This Forum titled ‘Samvad’ has therefore been developed to facilitate discussion amongst the employees on any topic related to taxation. It will help tap the expertise of employees and also improve collaborative working.

All employees of the Income Tax Department may feel free to use this forum subject obviously to requisite decorum being maintained in all discussions and adherence to Forum Rules. The forum is not restricted to discussion on the topics relevant only to the Faceless Assessment Scheme and discussion on any topic on taxation which has a is welcome . .
